Going Places
Going Places - Better Transport for all Victorians
More regional towns will be reconnected to the rail network, more new V/Line carriages will hit the tracks, and train services will be added to busy lines to give people in regional Victoria the option to catch more services, to more places, more often.
Dedicated tracks will be built to stop Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo trains from being caught behind suburban services and give people from those regional centres more services they can rely on.
New rail lines and new stations will be built to better connect people who live in some of our fastest growing suburbs to family, friends, entertainment and jobs.
More stations will be upgraded and staffed, more parking and bike storage will be built and new tracks, sleepers, points and signals will be installed to give commuters better services.
Bus services will be more frequent and run more often in our suburbs and in regional areas while new rapid transit services will connect more people to our train system.
Road connections across Victoria will be upgraded with more lanes to keep motorists moving, connect tradespeople to work, farmers to markets and exporters to ports.

View the full release: Huntingdale station upgrade plans welcomed by Monash University
9 November 2010
Monash University has welcomed the announcement today that a Labor Government will upgrade the Huntingdale train station and provide a new high frequency direct bus service to Monash University's Clayton campus, if re-elected.
"The interchange at Huntingdale station will make it easier and safer for our students to travel to and from the Clayton campus as the sheltered waiting area abuts the train station and no pedestrian crossing is required.
"Monash University hopes the provision of the direct bus service will also encourage additional students to travel to and from the university from Huntingdale station, reduce car usage and improve sustainability outcomes.
"With many international students considering transport and accessibility as a key factor in their decision to attend university in Victoria, as well as a strong demand from local students for appropriate transport links to Clayton, the announcement will make it easier and safer for Monash University students to access the campus," Professor Byrne said.
