When will Baillieu deliver a jobs plan for Geelong?

The Premier needs to tell families in Geelong and the region exactly what date he will deliver a plan to create and retain jobs, Opposition Leader Daniel Andrews said today.
Mr Andrews, with Member for Geelong Ian Trezise, met with workers and toured Wettenhalls Transport Group in Lara.
“Wettenhalls is a great example of a company providing employment for so many families in the Geelong area,” Mr Andrews said.
“We are moving into uncertain economic times, and to make sure companies can continue providing the jobs that Victorians need, it’s important the Baillieu Government starts doing the hard work to keep our economy moving.”
There are now 9000 less Victorians employed than when Mr Baillieu took office.
Mr Andrews urged Mr Baillieu to release a jobs plan to create and secure jobs in Geelong and across the state.
“Premier, what date will you provide your jobs plan to Geelong families?” he said.
“There’s nothing more important to families than a job, but every time you pick up a newspaper or turn on the radio or television there are more reports of workers being made redundant.
“Unfortunately, Mr Baillieu has spent his first 14 months in power doing nothing to make sure new jobs are created in regions like Geelong.”
“There’s no more time to waste. Geelong residents need and deserve to know when the Premier will deliver a plan to create jobs and make sure the state’s economy can hold up against any external pressures.
“Geelong residents need a Premier who will take charge and lead the state, not one who is more interested in hiding under his desk and hoping the tough issues just disappear.
Member for Lara John Eren and Mr Trezise said workers in Geelong and the region deserved better from the Baillieu Government.
“Geelong families need action from this do-nothing Premier,” Mr Eren said.
“A plan, not empty words, will help create jobs,” Mr Trezise said.
