    Lisa Neville is determined to continue to listen and represent all residents of Bellarine.
     
    Lisa has an Arts Degree from Griffith University and a Law Degree from Deakin University.
     
    Before being elected to Parliament in November 2002, she worked and volunteered in a range of organisations that have sought to build strong, local communities in the region. These included:

    • Manager, Springdale Neighbourhood Centre
    • President, Board of Barwon Health
    • Chairperson, Barwon Network of Neighbourhood Houses
    • Vice-President. Geelong Community Legal Service.
     In 2006 Lisa was appointed Victoria’s first Minister for Mental Health, pioneering the reform effort required to deliver better care to more patients, while raising awareness of the crucial issues of depression and other mental illnesses.
     
    As Minister for Mental Health, Lisa also had responsibility for Victoria’s drug and alcohol prevention and treatment programs, and provided strong leadership to improve Victoria’s record in preventing addiction, particularly in young people.
     
    Lisa also served as Minister for Community Services and Minister for Senior Victorians and in these roles was active in promoting and celebrating Victoria’s seniors; advocating for and responding to the complex needs of Victorians living with a disability, their carers and families; and managing Victoria’s crucial Children, Youth and Families services that protect Victorian children from abuse, family violence, and sexual assault and rehabilitate young offenders through the Youth Justice System.

    Re-elected as the Member for Bellarine in 2010, Lisa was appointed as the Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change and Shadow Minister for the Arts.
     
    Lisa is an active Parliamentarian, representing the views of constituents and participating in policy development on issues of concern in Bellarine. The Bellarine Peninsula has a growing population, from young families to retirees, and the development of the region needs to be carefully managed.
     
    Lisa is committed to ensuring that infrastructure and services continue to improve in Bellarine for all residents.

337 square kilometres.

Products/Industries of the Area:

The district includes popular tourist attractions of Swan Bay, Swan Island and the historic fort and fishing port at Queenscliff. Seaside resorts are scattered along the coast of the Peninsula, attracting visitors throughout the year. Bellarine District also includes the Alcoa Plant at Point Henry and the Cheetham Salt Works. The interior of the Peninsula is largely devoted to agriculture.
