    Geoff Howard was elected to the Parliament of Victoria in 1999 as the Member for Ballarat East. 

    Before entering Parliament Mr Howard was a Secondary Teacher teaching in the Maths/Science area.

    He was also a Ballarat City Councillor from 1989 to 1999 and Mayor of the City in 1993/94.

    On his election to parliament he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Environment and he later served as Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture.

    Geoff is proud to stand on his record of delivering for the community of Ballarat East.

allarat is Victoria?s largest inland city and was one of the main goldmining centres in Australia in the nineteenth century. Ballarat and Daylesford are significant tourist centres. The Daylesford area features natural springs, health spa resorts and a lively town centre with shops and cafes. Industries in the region include agriculture, grazing, mining and timber production.
