Policy committees

Policy committees

Policy committees develop the ALP’s policies and issue positions which become the Party Platform. The Party Platform is a statement about what the Labor Party stands for. This Platform is used as a basis to determine policies and promises the Party will take to a State Election as well as the priorities for a successful Labor Government.

The policy committees work in conjunction with the state and federal parliamentary parties to develop the Platform. Policy committees are elected every two years at State Conference, but any member of the Party may take part in discussions as a non-voting member (associate member).

If you are interested in becoming an associate member of a policy committee or if your local branch would like to address correspondence to any policy committee please contact State Office for information.
