Chapter 6: A Fairer Victoria
Labor believes in strong communities where all Victorians have the opportunity to fully participate in all aspects of life. Significant barriers to fairness remain in Victoria which disproportionately impact on children from low-income families, older Victorians, indigenous people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
We are committed to assisting various sectors of the community in overcoming these barriers.
Since 1999, Labor has increased fuding to disability services by 73 per cent; quadrupled funding for the Victorian Multicultural Commission's community grants; provided $35.1 million to address family violence; given older Victorians more opportunities to live independently; and spent $27.1 million to improve the health and prosperity of Indigenous Victorians.
More information about Labor's plans to improve opportunities for all Victorians is available by downloading Chapter Six: A Fairer Victoria.
