Chapter 3: Making Victorians Healthier
Labor believes that all Victorians should have access to high quality hospital and community health services where and when they need them. Labor is committed to a strong public hospital system to care for Victorian families.
We are committed to providing for the needs of an ageing population; ensuring we have a skilled and dedicated health workforce; equipping our hospitals with the latest medical technology; and further improving ambulance and rural health services.
Labor has increased funding to our hospitals by 71 per cent and admitted over 1.2 million patients a year. We are working to build the next generation of public hospitals; promote health and wellbeing; develop an integrated mental health care system; and train more doctors, nurses and other health professionals.
