Chapter 2: Providing Quality Education
Labor believes education is the key to our children’s future and to Victoria’s continuing prosperity.
We are committed to ensuring our schools are among the world's best; increasing the proportion of students completing secondary school or an equivalent training qualification; and narrowing the gap in results achieved by students from different socio-economic backgrounds.
Labor has boosted investment in education and training by $5.7 billion. We are working to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes; replace the generation of poor quality school buildings built in the 1950s and 60s; provide better pathways from finishing school to getting a good job; and revitalise skills training by starting earlier and learning longer.
