The Brumby Government today announced an $86 million infrastructure package and a 60 per cent drop in wagering taxes post 2012 to secure the long-term future of Victoria’s racing industry.

Local residents, sporting enthusiasts and students in the Fawkner area and surrounding suburbs will be able to play year-round on a new synthetic soccer pitch, thanks to a $300,000 Brumby Government grant.

Construction of a National Ice Sports Centre at Docklands is scheduled to begin early next year after the Brumby Government secured a financial partnership for the project.
