The Victorian Institute of Teaching’s role in regulating the teaching profession will be strengthened under a series of reforms being introduced by the Brumby Government.

A $3 million school upgrade package will see another six Victorian schools – including Mt Dandenong Primary School – benefit from better school buildings under the Brumby Government’s Better Schools Today initiative.

Students at Roxburgh College can now practice, perform and learn in a state-of-the-art $1.43 million performing arts centre, officially opened today by Premier John Brumby.

An $8 million project to create a new science, art and technology wing at Newcomb Secondary College in Geelong will position the school at the leading edge of modern education, the Premier, John Brumby said today.

The centrepiece of a $3.75 million redevelopment at Gisborne Secondary College – two state-of-the-art buildings known as “learning neighbourhoods” – were officially opened today by Education Minister Bronwyn Pike.
