About Nazih Elasmar 

Nazih Elasmar was born 16 April 1953, is married with three children and has lived in Northcote for 30 years.

Nazih has worked for the last 11 years as an Electorate Officer.  Prior to this he worked with the Public Transport Corporation and as a mathematics teacher.

Nazih has been an ALP activist for over 15 years, is President of his local ALP Branch and has been a Delegate to State and National Conferences, and has served on many ALP Administrative and Policy Committees.

Nazih is a former Mayor and Councillor of Darebin Council.

He is a recipient of Centenary of Federation Medal and awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to the community.
