About Danielle Green

Danielle Green was elected to the district of Yan Yean in 2002. She is the mother of two sons and lives in Doreen with partner Steve.

Danielle believes in being active in her local community and is a member of various local groups and is a volunteer firefighter with the CFA. active in her local community

Since being elected, Danielle has worked with the community to secure funding for 4 new schools in the area, including at Laurimar, Epping North and the $25 million Mill Park Lakes P-9 School, including a Special Development School. Danielle has also secured major upgrade funding for Whittlesea Secondary College, Diamond Creek East, Epping, Meadowglen, Apollo Parkways and Yarrambat Primary Schools.

Since the Brumby Government’s election, hospitals serving Melbourne’s north are the best in the state, with 96 new beds, 2 new operating theatres and an after-hours GP clinic at the Northern Hospital in Epping and Australia’s largest ever hospital project, the rebuilding of the Austin & Mercy hospitals in Heidelberg now complete.

Danielle also lists the reticulation of natural gas to Hurstbridge and sewage connection to Mernda as key achievements.

Local Police Stations and CFA Fire Stations have also benefited from major upgrades and new appliances. Diamond Creek’s Emergency Services Complex now houses police, ambulance and CFA, achieved in Danielle’s time as local MP.

About Yan Yean

Location: Yan Yean District is an outer metropolitan electorate approximately 19 kilometres north of Melbourne.
Area: 745 square kilometres.
Region: Northern Metropolitan Region
Towns: Arthurs Creek, Christmas Hills, Cottles Bridge, Diamond Creek, Hurstbridge, Kangaroo Ground, Plenty, Warrandyte North, Whittlesea, Yan Yean and Yarrambat. Parts of Eltham, Epping, Greensborough, Kinglake West, Research and St Andrews.

Features: Natural features of Yan Yean District include the Kinglake National Park and the Warrandyte State Park. There is some residential development in the south of the electorate.
