About Christine Campbell

Christine Campbell grew up in Pascoe Vale and has been the State Member for this district since 1996.

Christine strongly advocates justice for all people within the community and at all stages of life. Her political work aims to foster the dignity of the human person. She achieves this by actively promoting the needs of the people whom she serves.

Christine is current Chair of the Victorian Parliament Economic Development and Public Infrastructure Committee and is a member of the Electoral Matters Committee. She previously chaired the Public Accounts and Estimates Committee. In the first Bracks Government, Christine held ministerial portfolios in Community Services, Senior Victorians and Consumer Affairs.
 
Christine has a passion for public policy and believes strongly in lifelong learning. Currently Christine is completing a Masters Degree in Bioethics. In her spare time Christine enjoys spending time with her family, reading, bushwalking, cycling and is keenly interested in social issues, ethics and philosophy.

Location: Pascoe Vale District is a metropolitan electorate approximately eight kilometres north of Melbourne.
Area: 26 square kilometres.
Region: Western Metropolitan Region
Suburbs: Coburg North, Hadfield, Oak Park, Pascoe Vale and Pascoe Vale South.Parts of the suburbs of Coburg, Glenroy and Gowenbrae.

Features: Pascoe Vale District is largely residential, with some industry in the area. Features include the Merri and Moonee Ponds Creeks, the Fawkner Crematorium and Memorial Park and a number of recreation areas.
