About Alistair Harkness

Alistair Harkness is passionate about standing up for Frankston and creating positive change in the bay-side city.

Representing Frankston since November 2002, Alistair is one of the most active members of the Victorian Parliament – working to ensure our State has effective government, and that Frankston gets the facilities and services it deserves. standing up for Frankston

Alistair’s political career began as an electorate officer for Steve Bracks, and his previous employment experience included animal care, retail and industrial roles.

His key areas of interest are road-safety, education, and the environment.

Alistair has already left a distinct mark on Frankston, championing important projects such as: a large regional sports, aquatic and wellness centre; a multicultural centre; the preservation of the Frankston Reservoir as parkland for future generations; and further improvements to Frankston Hospital, local schools and roads.

Location: Frankston District is an outer metropolitan electorate approximately 36 kilometres south-east of Melbourne.
Area: 34 square kilometres.
Region:    South Eastern Metropolitan Region
Suburbs: Frankston and Frankston South.

Features: Frankston District comprises residential areas, a business and shopping precinct and beaches. Other features include the Frankston Reservoir, the George Pentland Botanical Gardens, the Frankston College of TAFE and the Frankston campus of Monash University.
